Join Our Team at Kaleidoscope
At Kaleidoscope, every role matters. Whether you’re making your first cup of tea of the day or supporting someone through their recovery journey, you’ll be part of something truly meaningful. We offer genuine career development, excellent benefits, and the kind of workplace culture where 96% of our staff feel proud to come to work each day.
In fact, 96% of our staff feel proud to work for Kaleidoscope – a testament to the great relationships we have with our community, our partners and the people we help!
About Kaleidoscope
We’re Wales’ leading substance use treatment charity, with projects spanning Wales and the North West of England. For over three decades, we’ve been pioneering new approaches to supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges.
We were the first to introduce needle syringe exchanges, on-site methadone dispensing, and we’ve established several successful social enterprises. But what we’re most proud of is how we listen. Really listen. To the people we support, to our communities, and to our staff. It’s how we keep innovating and how we keep getting better at what we do.
Our Mission
‘Achieving Change Together’
We support people with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues so they can build brighter futures in their communities.
Why Work With Us?
We believe looking after our team is just as important as looking after the people we support. That’s why we achieved Platinum status with Investors in People in 2022, and why we’re proud to be accredited as a Living Wage Foundation employer, Mindful Employer, and Disability Confident employer.
What We Offer
From annual wellbeing days (because everyone needs a proper break) to our cashback healthcare plan, we’ve built a benefits package that actually benefits you. Our comprehensive package includes professional development opportunities, flexible working arrangements where possible, and a workplace culture built on mutual respect and shared purpose.
Our Values
We’re looking for people who share our values, not just tick boxes on a job description. We want team members who understand that small acts of kindness can change someone’s day, that listening is often more powerful than talking, and that everyone deserves a second chance (or a third, or fourth).
Equality and Diversity
Kaleidoscope is committed to fair treatment for everyone, full stop. We don’t just meet legal requirements; we strive to exceed them. Whether you’re applying for your first job or your fifteenth, whether you’re returning to work after a break, or whether you need reasonable adjustments to do your best work, we want to hear from you.
We’re proud members of the DWP Disability Confident Scheme, Mindful Employer initiative, and we hold an Investors in People Gold Award. We’re also committed to our Welsh Language Policy and can provide recruitment materials and processes in Welsh upon request.
We believe our differences make us stronger. A team that reflects the communities we serve is a team that can truly understand and respond to their needs.
Employment Checks
Because we work with vulnerable people, we take safeguarding seriously. All successful candidates will need to provide two satisfactory references and undergo appropriate background checks, including an Enhanced DBS check for most roles.
Having a criminal record won’t automatically exclude you from working with us. We assess each situation individually, considering the nature and circumstances of any offences in relation to the specific role. We believe in second chances, and we practice what we preach.
All staff commit to working within our safeguarding policies and procedures as part of their employment.
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you’re looking for more than just a job, if you want to be part of an organisation that’s genuinely changing lives, and if you believe everyone deserves compassion and support, we’d love to hear from you.
