Stress Awareness Week

06/11/2020

During this difficult time, we are all experiencing stress in some form. This stress affects people in different ways. Take a moment to notice and accept your feelings. These are normal reactions to an abnormal situation.

You may feel lonely, but you are not alone. Stress affects everyone in different ways, but some ways of coping with stress can make you feel worse. Turning to drugs and alcohol, sleeping much more than usual or disconnecting from others might ease your stress in the short term, but there are more effective ways to ease your anxieties.

  • Talk to a friend, family member or counselor about how you are feeling
  • Spend time with your loved ones
  • Get your news from reliable sources
  • Take care of yourself

Not everything works for everyone, so find out what works for you, and remember, there is help available in your community.

At the onset of the pandemic Forensic Psychology UK kindly made these downloadable workbooks available to all our service users. Full of mindfulness activities they are a great tool to turn to whenever stress is getting the better of you.
